Eyenki

Eyenki is the wise and merciful God of fresh water. There are many legends about Eyenki, often centering on his divine wisdom. For example, when the Gods grew tired of their work digging rivers into the earth, Eyenki wisely suggested they create human beings as their slaves, and supplied the waters to wet the clay that would become the first humans. Eyenki also suggested a strategy to the Sun God Asham before his battle with Miyat.

Out of all the Gods, Eyenki is said to be the most sympathetic to humans. Before the Gods destroyed Apsuka Mayaka, Eyenki suggested to Atrahasis to build a floating ark, thus protecting him and his family in the ensuing Cataclysm. When Asham became angered at the sins of Atrahasis’ progeny, Eyenki gave the humans a Code of laws to help them avoid sinning in the future. Eyenki is usually portrayed as having the head of a goat and the tail of a great fish, though he is also said to have often appeared in human form.

Many believe that Eyenki can intercede on behalf of humans for their sins, averting the judgment of Asham. Throughout Greater Akkadia, people pray more to Eyenki than to any other God or Goddess.
