Libri
Libri (pop. 12,400) is a city on the eastern continent that sits on the edge of the Danyu Desert. Once inhabited by a tribe of desert savages and ruled by a tyrannical leader, Libri was freed and annexed into Greater Akkadia in the 54th reign.
Akkadians have brought civilization and fertility to this once-barren city. Green parks and gardens surround the central district. Libri also houses two temples, several beer halls, and a circus. The city’s elegant sandstone buildings reflect the desert setting to the east.
Despite its marks of civilization, Libri remains a dangerous city because of its native population, which lives under military occupation in the city’s eastern district. Many natives resent their Akkadian occupiers, and violent protests and terrorist attacks against Akkadians are not uncommon. However, some natives have adjusted well to the Akkadian way of life and live peacefully in the city’s unoccupied districts.
Because of the dangers to Akkadian civilians, Libri remains an imperial satrapy. It has no representation in the Star Council.
